5G (3)

Athonet don’t offer a fully locked-in, end-to-end solutions that restrict network evolution to radios, components and features that are from a single vendor. Athonet provides a core network that is designed to work with any radio vendor or radio form factor . We provides a flexible architecture that allows simple yet highly automated deployment of any core network function fully on-premises, fully cloud-based or hybrid architecture. We can use also a mix of private cloud, public cloud, fully on-prem, virtualised or bare metal infrastructure.
We can run the complete core network and management plane fully on the customers site or distribute or replicate functions in a variety of customer sites. Athonet has always had the view that customer’s know best how to use their own data and network. Hence we provide a large set of APIs that allow customers to integrate the private mobile network directly into their OSS and applications to monitor and collect network statistics and alarms directly into the customer’s control systems which includes configuration, monitoring and subscriber (SIM/eSIM) provisioning and management.

On the age of the digital transformation and the 5G time with the multitude of new use cases which could be deployed, it’s crucial that a trusted network connectivity vendor deliver solutions which are robust, simple to install and maintain and easy to be integrated in an open and innovative eco-system. Athonet core solutions are deployed in more than 100+ customers around the globe, deployed both on prem, on private and public cloud.
In 2020 our “Open 5G core” initiative has been the first live and public 5G SA core launch in a public cloud. Our core solution could be deployed in 10+ minutes only through automation tools, both in a local and geo-redundant configuration, where operation simplicity is one of our key design principles.
Openness has been historically (since the Athonet foundation in 2005) one of key characteristics of our products, including an open APIs framework to manage the solutions and integrate them in an application development framework.

Apart a reliable, performant and robust 5G connectivity, nowadays customers are asking for slicing, automation, voice and support for mission critical applications. Athonet 5G Core, already deployed in 60+ customers, enables a 5G 3GPP compliant end to end slicing solution. VoNR is already active in many of our deployments, encompassing our efficient IMS solution, slim, deployable in one single VM though delivering 3GPP compliant capabilities.
In our 5G core, mission critical services are already enabled and available through our MCPTT application partners via both legacy or even the recently standardized Service Based Interface.

Dashboard (3)

The solution is available through Athonet Dashboard product, which is a multi-tenant system. It’s possible to create several tenants to handle different customers or different departments of a big company. Tenant admin can create other users with specific roles. These users will see only the resources of their Tenant (e.g. USIMs, QoS profiles, metadata…).

The role-based mechanism and the segregation of the resources help Athonet’s clients to manage their private networks efficiently and securely.

Athonet Dashboard allows doing all the USIM operations. It’s required to deploy an SW, also known as HSS agent, together with the EPC to connect the HSS to the Dashboard. Then all the operations performed on the Dashboard will be synced to local HSSs. At the moment each USIM is associated with a single HSS.

Athonet Dashboard provide analytics functionalities. It allows the collection of CDR data from EPCs. It’s required to deploy an SW, also known as CDR Collector, together with the EPC to forward the CDRs to the Dashboard. These data are clean, enriched, and stored by the Dashboard ready to be utilized for analytics use cases.
The main use case is traffic control that analyzes different types of data traffic (e.g. downlink and uplink, SIM, operator, APN…).
It’s also possible to perform billing and IMEI change analysis still using the information from the CDR data.

IMS (3)

Athonet IMS, in line with our vision, allows our private network customers to deploy a VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and VoNR (Voice over New Radio) solution in just one virtual machine (in hypervisor or container environment) with a simplified architecture to breaking down the complexity. Our offer is compelled with Athonet EPC and 5GC or can be deployed in a multivendor environment because it follows 3GPP standards to guarantee the interoperability.

Athonet IMS can be interconnected with any external network via PBX to send/receive calls. Through our WebGUI the customer can benefit from more effective OAM by operating on the instance itself remotely or via OSS. For a more flexibility with Athonet IMS Customer can activate/deactivate the elements strictly necessary for its network. Our solution is ready for 5G since already supports SBA and protocols. Athonet IMS is deployed in our Tactical Network solution to offer critical communication to public-safety, army and defense use cases.

According to GSA and GSMA reports VoLTE subscriptions will overcome 4Kbn in 2024 with more than 280 VoLTE networks deployed at the end of 2022 all over and increasing VoNR deployments. Hence in the 5G era with 2G/3G SwitchOff planned to completion close to 2025 IP Multimedia Subsystem becomes the must-have technology to enable voice and communication services in the mobile network.

Based on our experience the IMS demand in the private networks is increasing during last years in many segments (mining, oil&gas, utilities, government, healthcare), this because more and more companies need to enable the communication internally and externally by assuring a seamless user experience between private and public networks.

Moreover, the need to enable the emergency services for private or IoTs devices is increasingly a requirement. In this context We believe that voice and communication services are a real value added to the private networks and our offer leverages on more than 15 years of experience in which our solutions have been tailored for private networks.

Athonet IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) supports a bundle of services included in the GSMA IR92 such as supplementary services: Call Diversions, Call Waiting, Call Hold, Outgoing/Incoming Call Barring, Originating Identity Presentation/Restriction. Moreover We supports Conference Calls, Announcements and SMSoIP.

Athonet IMS has been successfully tested in the ETSI plug test 2021 to be integrated with a standard MCPTT AS for Mission Critical services like voice and video broadcast/multicast via ISC and Rx interface. As it is for 3GPP REL-16 Athonet IMS supports Emergency Calls by allowing to solve PSAP number based on UE’s location.
